If you are using compatible HP 972x inkjet cartridges, your printer might not recognize them after a firmware update. The latest update is scheduled for around January 20th, 2021, so many cartridges installed after that date will not be recognized in your printer. In order to avoid this issue in the future, you can disable your printer from doing automatic updates. If your printer has been updated, make sure you purchase cartridges with the latest chips to work with the latest firmware update.
