When you start to see print quality issues and/or specs of toner on your printed pages, it is likely your drum unit is at the end of its life and should be replaced. The following steps will walk you through how to replace your used drum with a new one.
- Ensure the machine is turned on.
- Open the front cover by pulling on the handles on each side of the front panel.
-
- Grasp the handle of the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly and remove it from the machine.
2. Push down the green lock lever while grasping the toner cartridge by the handle and pull it out of the drum unit and set aside on a piece of scrap paper.
3. Unpack the new drum unit. Make sure to remove any plastic covers and packing materials & push the toner cartridge firmly into the new drum unit until it locks into place.
4. Reinsert the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly back into the machine & close the front cover.
After installing the new drum unit, you must reset the drum counter.
