Follow these steps to replace the toner when the display shows that the toner is low, and is no longer providing quality prints:
- Make sure the printer is off.
- Open the cartridge access door, then remove the empty toner cartridge from the printer.
3. Remove the new cartridge from its packaging.
NOTE: To prevent damaging the cartridge, hold the cartridge at each end or by the handle. Do not touch the protective cover or drum roller surface. Hold the new cartridge by both ends and gently rock it back and forth to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.
4. Remove the cover from the new cartridge.
5. Install the new toner cartridge.
6. Lock the lever, then close the toner cartridge access door.
Choose from two toner yields for this model:
HP W1380X yields up to 4,000 pages
HP W1380A yield up to 1,500 pages
